Get to Obergurgl with us

A joint bus transfer from Innsbruck Train Station/Innsbruck Airport to and back from Obergurgl is arranged according to the schedule below. The bus ride from Innsbruck to Obergurgl takes approx. 2 hours.

Please note that we scheduled a later bus to accommodate those with a late or tight arrival in Innsbruck. Due to increased instances of train delays, we may have scheduled you for the later bus even when you have indicated you will arrive before 14:00.

Close to the train station there two hotels with café/restaurants that offer a view over Innsbruck:

Adlers Hotel, Brunecker Str. 1, 6020 Innsbruck
If you have more time, the old-town and the shopping street Maria Theresienstrasse are a 10-15 minute walk. You can enjoy some of the sights and an maybe an ice cream from Tomaselli Gelateria.


Get to Innsbruck

By airplane
We recommend flying directly to Innsbruck, which is well connected with Frankfurt. Another option is Munich Airport (approx. two hours from Innsbruck). From Munich you can connect to Innsbruck by either train, bus or shuttle service.

By train
If you decide to travel by train, exit at 'Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof‘, which is well connected to Zürich, Munich, Italy and Vienna.

By car
Using Austria’s motorways requires a vignette, which can be purchased at petrol stations for either ten days (EUR 9.90), two months (EUR 29,00) or the current calender year (96,40). Federal highways are toll-free but might be time consuming.


Get to Obergurgl on your own

Munich – Kufstein Motorway
Head towards Innsbruck, pass Innsbruck towards Arlberg and take the exit "Ötztal" after about 50 km (40 min). From there it is another 50 km (approx. 65 min) to Obergurgl.


From Switzerland
Go toll-free across the Arlberg (Arlberg tunnel is closed between April and October 2023). Connect either via the toll motorway - exit "Ötztal" and then towards Obergurgl, or the federal highway Imst-Ötztal – Obergurgl.


From Italy
Cross Brenner/Brennero, connect to direction Arlberg and exit at Ötztal. From there it is 50 km (approx. 65 min) to Obergurgl. Exit at Innsbruck Süd and connect to Völs - Kematen - Ötztal-Bahnhof via the federal highway for a toll-free option.


By public transport from Innsbruck
Take a bus from Innsbruck to Obergurgl or a train to Ötztal Bahnhof and connect to Obergurgl by bus. Schedule
