Carnitine acetyltransferase

Description

CrAT is located in mitochondrial matrix and catalyses the formation of acetyl-carnitine from acetylCoA and L-carnitine and thus regulates acetylCoA/free CoA ratio which is essential for pyruvate dehydrogense complex (PDC) activity.

Abbreviation: CrAT
