Fluorophore

Description

A fluorophore are fluorescent substances that may occur naturally (intrinsic fluorophores) or that may be added to a sample or preparation whereby the fluorescence intensity is proportional to the concentration of a specific species or parameter within the sample. These are extrinsic fluorophores, also referred to as fluorescent markers.
