- When submitting to BEC for simultaneous submission as a MitoFit Preprint, please use the MitoFit Preprint template.

- The template is ready to use: please change the content, not the format (font, font size, colors and so on). In special cases, we are allowed to slightly adapt the templates to our needs, especially for spacing between lines. E.g. Do not end a page with a starting sentence or just a title, but add some white space and start the sentence on a new page - your article should be graphically accurate and easy to read.
- - In the template we are using “styles”, to make it easier the writing of the article (if you prefer to use styles) but you will find all the info in the word document (via comments).
- - Please, only edit the "Running title" in the headers/footers.
- - Please, do not edit the text highlighted in green.
- References style format:
- Without obligation, we recommend the following format for references, including hyperlinks when possible:
- - For periodical publications: Chance B, Williams GR (1955) Respiratory enzymes in oxidative phosphorylation. I. Kinetics of oxygen utilization. J Biol Chem 217:383-93. https://doi.org/10.1016/S0021-9258(19)57189-7
- - For publications with more than 12 authors: use et al after the 1st author
- - For consortia publications, mention the consortium name: Gnaiger E et al ― MitoEAGLE Task Group (2020) Mitochondrial physiology. Bioenerg Commun 2020.1. https://doi.org/10.26124/bec:2020-0001.v1
- - For books: Nelson DL, Cox MM (2021) Lehninger Principles of Biochemistry. 8th ed. WH Freeman ISBN:9781319228002
- References in the text may be mentioned according to the following examples:
- - One single author: (Gnaiger 2020)
- - For two authors, use a comma: (Chance, Williams 1955)
- - For three or more authors, use “et al”: (Gnaiger et al 2020)
- - For multiple references use a semicolon between the references: (Gnaiger et al 2020; Chance, Williams 1955).
- The publications are accompanied by a link to a data repository with the original data.
- Manuscripts must adhere to SI units and IUPAC recommendations. MitoEAGLE recommendations on terms and symbols are to be implemented.
