General information
- Enhance your research experience with Oroboros Instruments. Addressing the interests and expertise of participants, the advanced O2k-Workshop will provide training with the Oroboros NextGen-O2k to analyze coenzyme Q- and NAD-redox ratios 1, 2. Demos and hands-on experiments illustrate the principle of quality-controlled respirometric performance and showing the unique advantages and limitations of MultiSensor measurements. Emphasis is placed on understanding critical instrumental functions which determine the limits of detection and reproducibility 3, and on the importance of controlling physiologically relevant oxygen concentrations 4. Calibration protocols and selection of respiration media for simultaneous monitoring of mitochondrial respiration and hydrogen peroxide production (Amplex UltraRed) illustrate potential artefacts and strategies to avoid them 5. Measurement of mitochondrial membrane potential is compared when using ion-sensitive electrodes (TPP+) or fluorometric methods (safranin, TMRM) 6, 7.
- Since this will be an advanced course, please only register if you have already completed the virtual installation session or participated in another IOC.
