Mitochondrial density
Description
Specific mitochondrial density is D_{mtE} = mtE·m_{X}^{-1} [mtEU·kg^{-1}]. If the amount of mitochondria, mtE, is expressed as mitochondrial mass, then D_{mtE} is the mass fraction of mitochondria in the sample. If mtE is expressed as mitochondrial volume, V_{mt}, and the mass of sample, m_{X}, is replaced by volume of sample, V_{X}, then D_{mtE} is the volume fraction of mitochondria in the sample.
