Talk:O2k-TPP+ ISE-Module

From Bioblast

Question: If only Ca+2 is detected with the suitable module? Or, other ions such Na+, phosphate, K+ can also be detected?

Answer: We offer membranes to detect TPP+ and Ca2+. There are ion selective membranes available e.g. from Sigma Aldrich for a wide variety of species. If cut to a circle with a diameter of 4 mm these membranes can be used in our ISE system.

Many ions may also be detected by fluorimetric based methods, see [[1]]

Types of connectors

Question: Are the ISE sockets a BNC cable connection?

Answer: In Series D and higher the ISE connectors consists of 2 ports: 1.) a BNC port: both poles are "live" so it can be used either for a combination electrode (like a classical pH) or for just one singe electrode that requires a separate reference electrode 2.) a 2 mm pin type connection that is used for connecting the separate reference electrodes we use for TPP and now also for pH This 2 mm pin port connects to the same electronics as the outer channel of the BNC port. See also chapter 3.2 of the ISE Manual MiPNet15.03. In the same manual you find the relevant information for older series of the oxygraph.Fasching Mario 09:22, 19 September 2012 (CEST)
