Description

The Oroboros Virtual O2k-Workshop offers flexibility to participants, allowing them to choose the virtual coaching sessions with Oroboros experts that most fit their needs. The Virtual O2k-Workshop provides an overview of the O2k-FluoRespirometer, including analysis using DatLab 7.4 and applications of the Titration-Injection microPump TIP2k.

Sessions and workflow

  • During the Virtual O2k-Workshop access will be given to exclusive online material, along with the O2k-Manual and O2k-Videosupport (which is always available on the website). Links to exclusive videos will be provided in the programme (2nd column) and sent exclusively to participants after their registration.
It is highly recommended that participants prepare for their first live session by going through the self-study material (e.g. video clips and manuals) of Part 1.1 (OroboPOS service, O2k instrumental setup).
Β» The links to the online material are in the programme. The content will lead participants through the set-up of the instrument and provide an introduction to the field of HRR.
Β» The date of the live session will be communicated to the participants once a registration form is received.
  • After the first live session, participants can go through the remaining online material when convenient.
  • Once the material has been studied, face to face virtual coaching sessions can be planned, where tutors will offer their help for questions and discussions.

Live sessions and recommendation of hour allocation

Individual tutoring hours can be used for any topics needed, such as to prepare experiments, answer any other related questions, etc. The timetable in the programme below shows an approximate estimation of how much time will be needed for each specific session. This overview is intended to help participants to plan their available 6 hours efficiently. Sessions are marked with asterisks to indicate the level of recommendation for beginners, with 3 asterisks being the most highly recommended sessions.
More than one topic can be covered in a single session and the minimum time per session is 1 hour.

SUIT protocol selection

By filling out the registration form with research interests, samples availability and other relevant information, tutors can suggest a SUIT protocol for the training sessions. Participants are also encouraged to select a SUIT protocol by themselves. For this, we recommend going through the material (i.e. videos, O2k-Procedures, library of SUIT protocols and SUITbrowser) for Part 2.1: Experimental design and Part 2.2: Biological samples. If additional guidance in SUIT protocol selection is needed, participants can choose the session "Discussion about biological samples and experimental design." Once the SUIT protocol for the biological experiments is defined, Oroboros Instruments will provide you with a list of the chemicals required and preparation guidelines. The virtual coaching sessions for Part 2.3: Biological experiment and data analysis are only possible if (1) the participant has successfully completed Part 1 of the programme, (2) the SUIT protocols have been defined and (3) all necessary chemicals are prepared.

Until when can the hours be used

The hours for the virtual coaching sessions can be used during any time within the O2k-Warranty period (max.2 years). The virtual coaching sessions will take place on the dates to be confirmed both by the participants and tutors.
