Erich Gnaiger (CEO OROBOROS INSTRUMENTS) and Verena Laner (Project Manager MitoCom Tyrol) recently met Christopher McDougall at the
âMan in the Extremesâ event in Trondheim. Christopher McDougall is the author of the famous book âBorn to runâ and gave a fascinating talk about the
Tarahumaras â a hidden tribe in Mexico who, being best distance runners in the world, are considered the Ultra-Runners.
The âMan in the Extremesâ event was organized by CERG (Cardiovascular Exercise Research Group of the NTNU University Trondheim, Norway).
Besides Christopher McDougall, Paul Rose (President of the Royal Geographic Society) and BĂžrge Ousland (a polar explorer) also gave stunning
insights about their experiences in extreme environments.
