Protocol: I use either palmitoyl-L-carnitine plus malate (25 ยตM + 2.5 mM) or palmitoyl-CoA + L-carnitine + malate (25 ยตM + 2 mM + 2.5 mM) as substrates.
Respiratory control index is usually around 5-6 for healthy controls.
