Crabtree effect

Description

The Crabtree effect describes the observation that respiration is frequently inhibited when high concentrations of glucose or fructose are added to the culture medium - a phenomenon observed in numerous cell types, tumoral cells, proliferating cells, bacteria, and yeast.
