Photodiode arrays are two dimensional assemblies of photodiodes. They are frequently used in conjunction with charge coupled devices (CCDs) for digital imaging. They can be used in combination with dispersion devices to detect wavelength dependent light intensities in spectrofluorometers and spectrophotometers.
