Description
Substrate supply by succinate (S) is the basis for electron input through Complex II into the mETS. Inhibition of Complex I by rotenone (Rot; or amytal, piericidine) prevents accumulation of oxaloacetate which is a potent inhibitor of succinate dehydrogenase.
Abbreviation: S(Rot)
