The 10 mL syringe replaces the 60 mL syringe as a standard accessory of the Oroboros. Injection of a volume of 1 mL of oxygen or 8 mL of nitrogen gas into the gas phase is enough to change the oxygen concentration in the aqueous phase for reoxygenations (O<sub>2</sub>) or for achieving hypoxia (H<sub>2</sub>; or nitrogen or argon). There is a tendency to inject unnecessarily larger volumes with the 60 mL Gas-Injection Syringe. The smaller syringe, therefore, is more practical. The stainless steel needle with a spacer can be easily fitted to the 60 mL or 10 mL Gas-Injection Syringe.
