Description

Sodium azide is an inhibitor of Complex IV/cytochrome c oxidase (CIV, COX, CcO).

2021-03: Preparation instructions were updated to take the volume of the solute into account (see Volume of the solute). The concentrations prepared following the former instructions (see Discussion section) are sufficiently high for SUIT protocol titrations.

Preparation of 4 M storage and stock solution (1 mL, dissolved in H₂O) for 2-mL O2k-chamber:

Weigh 260 mg of sodium azide.
Dissolve in 900 µL H₂0.
Divide into 0.5 mL portions.
Store at -20 °C.
