1.) Before shipping the oxygraph:
#REDIRECT [[Shipping an O2k]]
Disassemble chambers in reverse to the assembly instruction given in the manual β€žO2k.Aβ€œ (O2k_Start).
Remove the sensor head from the sensor connector, remove the old membranes from the sensor, cleanΒ  the sensor head with water, allow to dry, store the sensor head and the membrane ring in its perspex vial (the ring threaded onto the shaft of the sensor, see β€œO2k.B” (POS_Service).
Re-attache the sensor connectors (without sensor) and the chamber holder to the oxygraph (as otherwise the front copper block could be damaged during transport). Do not include glass chambers and sensors. (This is the same state as when the oxygraph was delivered, as described in O2k.A.)
Β
2.) Packing the oxygraph
Use the original packing material (the foam inlets and the Box 1) as only with this packing your instrument is having ample protection during transport. If the original packaging material is no longer available it has to be ordered from Oroboros Instruments and shipped to the customer before shipping the oxygraph.
If the sensor heads have to be inspected also, they (in the perspex vials) should be send separately (attached for example with tape to the oxygraph).
The glass chambers should be kept and not send with the oxygraph.
3.) Import/Export declaration:
There is the possibility to avoid that you pay import tax again (as you have paid that when first imported), when the instrument is being returned to your home country. This is a little bit of paperwork, but still might we worth while. If you would like to do so, then you would have to ask your carrier to issue an export/import certificate (this allows a tax free import/export from your home country to Austria and vice versa within a certain time).Β  Please also contact your shipping agent for any specific rules applying to β€žshipping for repairsβ€œ from your home country to the European Union.
4.) Value of goods:
The customs declaration value of the instrument for the customs should be declared as Euro 5000,- (or equivalent in your currency).
5.) Courier
If your institution has a customer account at a courier, it is best to use this one.
If an import certificate had been issued, we are obliged to use the same carrier as you did, meaning we can't use our own carrier.Β  Therefore the return shipment would have to be charged to your account at the courier.
Β
6.) Shipping address:
The oxygraph has to be shipped to our office

As mentioned, it is a bit of paperwork to do, but can save quite a bit of money.
If you need any further information, please don't hesitate to contact us.
And please let us know, when you shipped the instrument, and if you decided the issue a import/export declaration.
Best regards,
The Oroboros Team
