Description
2-Deoxyglucose, also known as 2-deoxy-D-glucose is a glucose derivative which has the 2-hydroxyl group replaced by hydrogen. It competitively inhibits glycolysis by blocking hexokinase and phosphohexoseisomerase .
Abbreviation: 2-DG
Reference: Proton_flux, O2k-pH_ISE-Module
Application in HRR
- 2-DG: 2-deoxy-D-glucose C6H1205); Sigma D6134, 1 g or 5 g, store at 2-8 °C; M = 164.16 g·mol-1
- Preparation of 2 M stock solution (dissolved in H2O):
- weigh 1g of 2-deoxy-D-glucose
- dissolve 3.0458 mL H2O in a 10 mL-glass beaker
- »O2k manual titrations: MiPNet09.12 O2k-Titrations
- Titration volume: 25 µL using a 50 µL syringe
- Final conc. in 2 mL O2k-chamber: 25 mM
