Description
Sodium azide is an inhbitor of cytochrome c oxidase (COX, CcO).
Abbreviation: Azd
Reference: MiPNet03.02
Application in HRR
- Azd: Azide (Sodium azide, NaN3); Sigma S2002, SDS 25 g, store commercial stock at RT; FW = 65.01.
- Caution: Very toxic!
- Preparation of 4 M storage and stock solution (dissolved in H2O) for 2-mL O2k-chamber:
- Weigh 260 mg of sodium azide.
- Dissolve in 1 mL H20.
- Divide into 0.5 mL portions.
- Store at -20 °C.
- »O2k manual titrations MiPNet09.12 O2k-Titrations
- Titration volume (2-mL O2k-chamber): ≥50 µL using a 100 µL Hamilton syringe.
- Final concentration: ≥100 mM.
- Preparation of 2 M stock solution (dissolved in H2O) for 0.5-mL O2k-chamber:
- Take 400 µL of the 4 M stock solution.
- Add 400 µL H2O.
- »O2k manual titrations MiPNet09.12 O2k-Titrations
- Titration volume (0.5-mL O2k-chamber): ≥25 µL using a 100 µL Hamilton syringe.
- Final concentration: ≥100 mM.
